La lettura del mio primo romanzo - Le tigri di Mompracem - in una bella edizione illustrata per ragazzi, la libreria di uno zio insegnante che occupava una parete intera del suo studio, le soste davanti alle vetrine delle librerie, la pila di volumi sovrapposti in maniera disordinata utilizzati per compilare una laurea in Filosofia delle Scienze, sono ricordi di una presenza discreta ma importante negli anni trascorsi fin qui: il libro. Da tempo il "libro" è anche il mio mestiere. La gestione di una piccola libreria antiquaria mi ha dato modo di approfondirne la conoscenza anche dal punto di vista dell'arte tipografica. Di qui nasce l'idea di creare una casa editrice in cui la stampa manuale di un volume è tesa alla ricerca dell'armonia delle parti che lo compongono al fine di agevolarne la lettura.

From the reading of my first adventure story, a beautiful illustrated edition of Salgari's "Le tigri di Mompracem", to the library of my uncle, which filled his whole study, and from my lingering in front of the bookshop windows, attracted by all kind of book details such as size, colour, paper, plate, binding and type of the books, to my writing table where an haphazard pile of volumes I had to consult continually due to the requirements of my graduation thesis was lying, books have always been my unobtrusive, but crucial fellow-travellers.And books have long become my job too. The management of a small antiquarian bookshop has allowed me to deepen my practical knowledge in the field, from the point of view of the printing art as well. Therefore a new idea has arisen, that one of estabilishing a publishing house in which hand-made printing aims to the achievement of the harmonic equilibrium among all the component parts of a volume, in order to make the reading of it a pleasure.
